They board a train packed for a weekend back at home both seemingly eager. However, as they get off the train and leave the train station they start to approach Madison’s house and a cold shiver runs down from the nape of her neck to the bottom of her spine as her father walks out the door smiling. They exchange greetings and he welcomes Carl in. The afternoon passes and her father has prepared food, “Madison’s favourite” he describes it as. As they start to eat Madison asks her father what happened on that day when her mother died, to which he responds with a cold glance, she tries her best to brush it off and decides to come clean. She forms the question, “Dad, why?”, tears start forming in her eyes, “why?! How could you do it?!” She cries out, upon hearing this her father sends her to her room with an angry manner and tells Carl to leave. As Carl gathers his things to leave Madison tells Carl to wait for her, as Carl waits patiently outside we hear a scream from inside the house, it’s coming from Madison’s room. Carl quickly runs in and grabs the landline, he dials 999 and reports the situation to the police, he then drops his things and sprints up the stairs to see Madison’s father towering over her. Carl runs at her father and pushes him away from her whilst shouting at him, as Carl grabs Madison’s hand he ushers her down the stairs to which the door is slammed open to reveal the police, they tell the teens to get out of the house and go to the police car. Upon seeing her father they arrest him on sight and take him away in a police van very briskly. Madison, still shocked, asks “How did you get here so quick?” to which the police officer replies informing her the dark truth that it wasn’t the first time her father had murdered somebody and tried to keep it hidden, he tells her “Your father has always had a reputation for his anger but we never thought him capable of murder, until we found a crucial piece of evidence which told us otherwise, so we rushed here.” Madison thanks the police officers for their help and looks to the comfort of Carl as they embrace and start to walk down the bare road that once contained all of Madison’s happy memories.

Murderer
There was a village nearby the forest and the murderer was from there, all the villagers were disgusted by him because he was deformed, hence the mask. He was abused by his mother from a young age and this torment pushed him to kill his mother and take the skin of her face and wear it as a mask so that he could fit in with the village but was shunned from the village. Beginning -
The opening shot fades into a picture of the landscape showing a beautiful countryside, panning through the fields, mountains and forests. Then we see a group of four friends with hiking gear, such as climbing boots, big rucksacks etc. There is 3 males and 1 female, their names are Matt, George, Marty and Jessica. Through dialogue we hear them planning to hike across Britain's most beautiful landscapes, we follow them as they walk towards a forest where they plan to stay the night and decide to carry on with their hike the next day. As they're trying to find a place to pitch their tent, they see a cave, from the outside the cave seems quite inviting and warm, a well-purposed shelter from the harsh elements of mother nature. But as they grow closer to the cave they get a feeling of dread and pity as to what could be hidden inside, it's almost as if the cave is alive. They can sense something wrong but aren't quite sure as to what it is they're feeling. They slowly trudge away from the cave whilst still looking back to ensure that there was nothing watching them, as they follow the path they find a nice clearing between the trees for them to setup their camping gear. Their setup consists of 2 tents, one for Matt and Marty, and the other for George and Jessica. As well as this there is a fire pit, a simple gas powered stove and a few stools dotted around.

Middle -
The surroundings of the forest have now turned a dark colour in the sky and it is nearly impossible to see further than 20ft ahead. Marty is sat outside on his stool looking into the deep forest where he pictures a large bodied figure in the distance resembling that of a man. Phased by this, Marty thinks there must be a logical reason, and realises it could be paranoia from the stories he's heard of this forest. He wipes his eyes, but when he pulls his head back up onto his shoulders the large figure was now gone. Due to the disappearance of the man, he decides to wander sleepily into his tent. Shortly after, one by one, the rest of the group decide that they, too, are getting tired and head for their sleeping bags. Marty awakens to a still dark sky, but there is a small amount of light creeping into the sky, he lifts his wrist with a lazy manner and checks his watch for the time. He brings his watch to his face and the numbers blur as his eyes try to focus, finally he sees the time, it's 3:07 in the morning. He can hear a faint voice calling his name in the distance, intrigued by this he ventures out into the dark, dense forest to investigate. Upon following the faint calls of his name, he arrives at the forefront of the cave that they came across earlier on. We cut to a shot of the rest of the group waking up at the break of dawn, Matt glances around the tent and panics as he starts to realise that Marty isn't there.

End -
After Marty has been severely disfigured and Jessica has fallen victim to the murderer, we are left alone in the forest with Matt and George who seem traumatised from the death of their friends. They appear bloody and bruised as if they've managed to escape the murderer's games. We see them leaning against a tree breathless, when they hear a pile of twigs crunch from behind them. Upon turning back they see the same tall figure dressed in bloodied overalls hurrying towards them, they decide to sprint and try to find a way out from this hell that they've entered. As they're running, literally for their lives. George, now panting, loses his balance and stumbles onto the floor. Matt sees his friend and turns back to help, as he is helping George up off the floor the murderer grabs hold of both of the men. He lugs them over his shoulders and carries them back to the cave, when they enter the cave they see a bunch of broken bones scattered across the cave floor. The murderer then prepares for Matt to be killed and begins sharpening his knives, he then kills Matt whilst George is watching and starts to eat Matt. George notices one of the buckles around him is loose and managed to get it undone, George then kicks the murderer in the back and the murderer stumbles, George takes this opportunity to run from the cave, as he sprints through the forest he reaches the last stretch of trees and runs onto a road. On this road he sees a road sign directing him to the nearest village and then decides to make his way to the village to get away from the forest.
